There are some songs that you know will just work for a wedding ceremony and this one is one of them. Sometimes what makes a song is the beat or production of the track. But for something to work in a wedding ceremony performed by an acoustic artist, the melody of the vocals has to hit.

This Aussie John Farnham classic has both the magic melody and the special lyrics that would make walking down the eye and real tear jerker.

We were lucky enough to provide all the entertainment from start to finish for Emily & James’ special day in Orange, NSW last month. From acoustic solo, to DJ and vocals, to MC to DJ dancefloor.

We travelled all the way from Byron Bay to Orange for this little adventure and it was well worth it.

What an original, love filled and colour popping day this was!

We provided the sound speakers and mics for the ceremony, canapes &through dinner and then DJ’d through the second half of the reception and got the DF pumping.

What this looks like..

We make sure the chosen songs get played for each of those special moments. That the sound is at the best volume and the speakers are moved from section to section seamlessly and without a fuss. We turn the music down and the mics up through the speeches. We take requests from your guests and read the room to keep the dancefloor pumping, we announce the first dance, the last drinks and the final song of the night.

When the music and logistics run smoothly no one should notice. When they don’t it can become clunky and a little awkward.

We loved supporting this beautiful couple in Byron Bay, just down the road from our house. It was where they first went on holiday as a couple together and have special memories of watching live music and dancing together, so wanted to bring that into the wedding ceremony and reception.

There is something special about having live music or acoustic music for the wedding ceremony and Byron Bay has a multitude of talented musicians. I am so glad Poppy and Nick chose me to play live music and DJ to celebrate their special day.

Renny and Matt’s wedding was an absolutely stunning, modest but beautiful wedding in the Southern Highlands of NSW. It was a chilly Autumn day which added to the magical feeling. We were invited to provide entertainment from ceremony through to reception moving from acoustic to DJ. We love being a part of the wedding from start to finish as we get to know guests and have a great time.

I played live music solo for the ceremony and canapés, and then Jake and I played as a live music duo for the first part of the wedding reception and then after speeches we both DJ for the second part of reception.
